Senior Tax Manager
Job Description
Location: Aurora, IL
Salary: $115,000 – $145,000
We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager whose duties include managing the
Federal income and State income, sales, and property tax compliance
function for multi-entity and private U.S. entities from research to
accounting and return preparation, including assistance with internal
and external tax advice and service.
Job Responsibilities
• Prepare accurate and timely filing of federal, state, and local
income tax returns and other business-related filings of companies and
affiliates, as needed.
• Assist in providing tax advice and service to COMPANY, its
principals, affiliates, and joint-venture entities.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement in
company tax procedures.
• Assist in implementing strategic tax planning for all necessary
federal state and local taxes, as needed.
• Research tax questions to optimize tax information and minimize
liability in conformance with laws.
• Assist in maintaining overall return calendar and coordinating
timing and inputs with tax team.
• Assist in maintaining effective control procedures over all aspects
of the tax process.
• Assist in managing federal, state, and local tax audits: preparing
responses, creating schedules, etc.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate
the effects of these developments, and assist in creating strategies to
capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
• Provide support with various internal/external audits and special
tax related projects.
• Prepare quarterly tax distributions.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly use tax returns.
• Prepare estimated non-resident withholding and composite payment
• This role has the responsibility to understand and places in
practice appropriate safety procedures. This responsibility is achieved
through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable)
and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills
• 5-10 years of experience in related field is preferred.
• Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.
• S- corporation and partnership tax knowledge.
• Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for S-
corporations and partnerships.
• Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting
requirements.
• Experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive
process improvements.
• Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best
practices to organize and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to
collaborate well with stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and people skills.
• Familiarity with SAP, Corp tax, and research tools.
Education
• BA/BS or equivalent is preferred.
Work Environment
• Work is performed within a business professional office environment,
with standard office equipment available.
• Work conditions are typical of an office environment.
• This role does not require any domestic travel
• Position requires the physical agility to perform continuous lifting
up to 15 pounds, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling,
stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talking, hear, feel objects,
tools, and controls, and standing/walking on concrete flooring.
